ADHOCISM

A complicated word for a simple gesture.

The gesture that every one did, in solving

a problem with surrounding systems .

Theorized by Charles Jencks and Nathan Silver in the early 70’s, Adhocism is when you make use of an available system or deal with an existing situation in a new way to solve a problem quickly.

Add to this an idea of spontaneous movement, cutting through the maze of bureaucracy, shortening the steps and you have it.

Thus, the designer is not involved here, he can only admire the beauty of those clever systems composition.

Admire and learn from it. Learn how the user can get involve in the creation process. And how objects should not be so fixed in their use.
